  • The First SIMS EUROSIM Conference on Modelling and Simulation, SIMS EUROSIM 2021, and 62nd International Conference of Scandinavian Simulation Society, SIMS 2021, September 21-23, Virtual Conference, Finland

The first SIMS EUROSIM conference on Simulation and Modelling (SIMS EUROSIM 2021) and 62nd SIMS conference on Simulation and Modelling (SIMS 2021) were organized as a joint virtual conference. Originally, this conference was planned to be organized in Oulu, Finland. The COVID-19 pandemic presented tremendous challenges for the global research community and for the entire world. The organizers were first postponing the deadlines and keeping the plan of organizing the conference in person. Since the pandemic was continuing strongly, the plans were changed: the conference was decided to organize as a virtual conference in September 2021.

  • Proceedings of The 60th SIMS Conference on Simulation and Modelling SIMS 2019, August 12-16, Västerås, Sweden

The 60th SIMS conference on Simulation and Modelling (SIMS 2016) was held in cooperation with ICAE, 11th International Conference of Applied Energy in Våsteräs, Sweden. This was the 60th time for the  conference SIMS. It was held the first time 1959, also in Vasteras, so this was a nice anniversary. Våsteräs is a city in Central Sweden on the shore of Lake Mälaren in the province of Västmanland, 100 kilometers west of Stockholm. The city has a population of approximately 120 000 out of the municipal total of 150 000.

  • Proceedings of the 58th Conference on Simulation and Modelling (SIMS 58) Reykjavik, Iceland, September 25th – 27th, 2017

Welcome to the 58th Conference on Simulation Modelling and Optimization in Reykjavik, Iceland. Reykjavik is the northernmost and one of the smallest capital cities in the world. Although small for a capital, it is the country’s largest and most populated city and with the urban area population of around 200000, it is the home of the vast majority of Iceland’s people. The city is pioneer in the use of geothermal energy to provide low-cost heating and electricity. Iceland’s energy consumption per capita is among the highest in the world, and the proportion of this consumption provided by renewable energy sources exceeds most other countries. The electricity is produced almost entirely from renewable energy sources, hydroelectric (70%) and geothermal (30%) and simulation, modelling and optimization are the key elements to utilize the renewable energy more efficiently.

  • Proceedings of The 9th EUROSIM Congress on Modelling and Simulation, EUROSIM 2016, The 57th SIMS Conference on Simulation and Modelling SIMS 2016

The 9th Eurosim Congress on Modelling and Simulation (Eurosim 2016) and the 57th SIMS conference on Simulation and Modelling (SIMS 2016) were held jointly in the City of Oulu, Finland. The Federation of European Simulation Societies (Eurosim) was set up in 1989. The purpose of EUROSIM is to provide a  European forum for regional and national simulation societies to promote the advancement of modelling  and simulation in industry, research and development. The program committee has organized an exciting and balanced program comprising presentations from distinguished experts in the field, and important and  wideranging contributions on state-of-the-art research that provide new insights into the latest innovations in the field of modelling and simulation. EUROSIM 2016 was organized by Scandinavian simulation society  (SIMS), Finnish Society of Automation (FSA), Finnish Simulation Forum (FinSim), University of Oulu and Finnish Automation Support Ltd. SIMS was founded in 1959.
